Organize Your Home With Custom Decals

Everyone loves an organized home! Here at www.shirtsanddecals.com we have many useful ideas to get you started.

Let's start out in the Kitchen-You can create labels for your SUGAR, FLOUR, BROWN SUGAR, POWDERED SUGAR and more. A simple block style lettering is the most clean cut and organized looking. If you want a little more elegant fancy look, you can choose a script font. That is the fun part of our online design tool, you can go thru and view how each font will look before you purchase it. You can also add a piece of clipart or a border to dress it up to match your decor. For example in a country kitchen you could use a red and white checkered border. In a french country kitchen you could add a decorative rooster to each decal. A great advantage of our decals versus the one you can purchase at your local store is the fact they are washable. They are very durable and will not fade or smear when wiped with a wet rag. These are NOT paper labels, they are premium vinyl decals, the same material that is used on vehicles and able to withstand car washes and outdoor weather.

If you have thick enough wooden shelves in your pantry, you can easily dress it up by laying contact paper on the shelves, painting the fronts of the shelves a coordinating color and adding labels for each item. A place for everything and everything in its place is a great motto to help you stay organized. In your junk drawer, you can buy a plastic insert with dividers and then create a label to place in each section that says pens, scissors, coins, rubber bands, lighter, screwdriver, etc. This way you instantly know where each item goes and if it is missing.

This works great in the office as well. Moving on to the office, there are many ways labels can help you get organized. Tired of stacks of the kids cd games at your computer? Simply buy a cd storage album at your local store to match your office decor. Then design a label with the cd's name and place one on each page of the cd album. You will then have just a small cd album to keep on your desk and you will be able to get rid of the stack of cd cases (or store them up on a shelf, out of the way) Another benefit-you will be able to tell at a glance if any cd's are missing! This works great for organizing your photo cd's, dvd's, computer games, and more. Another great tip is to organize all your commonly referenced info (takeout menu's, grocery lists, Ideas of places to go on vacation, music lessons, owners manuals, etc.) in 3-ring binder's. You can create custom fancy looking labels for each binder, then everything can be organized on a bookshelf. No more stacks and piles! This works for photo albums as well, create a label with a description of the photos and the time period in which they were taken. You could add a piece of clipart to personalize it even more. For example:

Smith's Summer Vacation
July 2006

Our decals will adhere to any smooth surface, and are great for labeling bins as well. Is your breaker box a dreadful mess of scribbled names? You can create a decal to cover the existing label with your custom info on typed on it for a clean organized and easy to read look. Want to organize all those miscellaneous nails, bolts and other hardware? Buy some plastic shelf bins at your local Lowe's store or home improvement store and create labels for each item. We use this ourselves in our business. (Fig.B-Picture of our yellow bins)

In the Kid's bedroom, labels can dress up a plain dresser and help your child stay organized.

You can also get creative and add special lettering or decals to the walls. These are very popular in a metallic gold or a matte black material. Vivaldi and Roman are two or our most commonly used fonts. Here are some popular sayings:

  1. Sweet dreams, sleep tight, we love you, good night
  2. Fly with the angels, Dance with the stars
  3. Dreams are the windows to the world
  4. We can't all be stars but we can all twinkle
  5. Shhh...Baby's Dreaming
  6. The angels danced the day you were born
